SECTION // 01 · THE PROBLEM

The problem

Large 3D scenes can place considerable pressure on browser memory and runtime resources when every asset is loaded together.

C01

The viewer had to work within the Cesium and 3D Tiles runtime model without assuming all model content could remain in memory.

C02

Resource decisions needed to respond to camera movement and the changing visible area.

SECTION // 02 · THE MECHANISM

Solution design and delivery path

TRACK 01

Organize the dataset as spatially identifiable regions.

TRACK 02

Use the camera frustum to determine which areas are relevant to the current view.

TRACK 03

Load regions entering the visible set and release resources for those leaving it.

SECTION // 03 · IMPLEMENTATION CONTRACT

Implementation approach

01

Map spatial partitions to their corresponding 3D Tiles resources.

VERIFIABLE
02

Update the visible region set during navigation and perform the corresponding load and unload operations.

SECTION // 04 · OUTCOME

What this makes possible

Scene navigation could focus available resources on the area being viewed rather than keeping the full environment loaded.
